Our Story

My family used to be in the tea business so I have always had access to really great tea. After marriage, Anjum quickly upscaled her daily Indian Chai with my tea. We settled into this privilege and took our deeply satisfying cups of tea for granted. But along came Covid, and like much else at that time, the supply stopped and I couldn’t match the quality anywhere closer to home.

Decades after I left the family tea business, it was time to “come home” and start again… 96º sources only the best teas from around the world but this time we want to make sure they are accessible to all!

Our Values

We are a small start-up company with big environmental and social aspirations. We can't do everything we want just yet, but for now...

We only work with certified plantations which means independent agencies confirm the plantations take care of their work force and pay them a proper wage.

All our packaging is either recyclable or compostable. And our Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions are minimised and offset. As we grow, we will continue to minimise our carbon footprint and forge closer working relationships with the communities that grow our teas.

Our cup of tea

We are both really particular about our tea. We start each morning with a mug of black tea (mine Assam with milk, Anjum has a builder's version of Indian Chai or English Breakfast.)
