What does 96° stand for?

96°C is considered the ideal water temperature to make the perfect cup of Assam tea. It has become our shorthand for our obsessive pursuit to bring you the perfect cup of tea

What are the caffeine levels in your teas?

Do you sell decaffeinated tea?

Not currently, however we do have a range of herbal teas that don’t contain caffeine

Are the teas suitable for vegans or vegetarians?

Our teas are suitable for both vegans and vegetarians

How should I store my tea?

Store your sealed tea envelopes in the box they came in or in any other container you may have

Is 96° packaging environmentally friendly?

All our packaging is either recyclable or compostable. Our teabags, threads, and tags are made from plant-based materials and are industrially compostable, and our tea envelopes and boxes are recyclable.

Why are 96° teabags wrapped in individual sachets?

Each tea bag is wrapped in a recyclable envelope to ensure the leaves stay as fresh as the day they were picked. This keeps the flavour intact, so every cup of tea delivers the same joy and freshness every time.

Ethical Sourcing:

How do you maintain ethical sourcing when it comes to wages and living conditions for tea farms and factory workers alike?

Where appropriate, our teas are purchased from estates that have been certified by third party agencies for their fair wages and safe working conditions. Our teas from the EU and Japan are not certified.

Do you have any retail stores?

No. Our teas are currently available in Coles, on this website and on Amazon

What do I do if an item I want to order is out of stock?

If an item isn’t available, please sign-up for our restock notification or email us on contact@96degrees.com

The size or format of tea I want isn’t available for purchase. What should I do?

We’re still working through our pack formats, tweaking to perfect our range. If you have any suggestions, please email us and let us know your thoughts. Perhaps in the future…
